i was wondering if anyone knows what's best...
if doing weights or any streneous excercise (including push ups, squats, & other weights) or running first?

im trying to get back in shape and want to start running a bit, but i want to get somewhat toned as well, so i dont know what to do first though, to get best results.

thanks.

no wonder everyone hates you.

you shouldnt say anything else. i wont even embarass you anymore, i think you've been humiliated enough in this site and people already know what you're all about, so me adding to that isn't even necessary or anything special, we all know you're an idiot and a loser.

by the way, i wouldnt be too proud of looking the way you do, no wonder it took so long for you to post that pic.

and im not trying to lose weight, im actually trying to gain it, but i want to get good cardio, and....pretty much the only way to do that is by running.

Well he wants to get fit.

I recommend running first but it all depends on what kind of running as in how strenuous it is.

well i'd wanna start slow...
just so i wont tire out as much as fast. and then ill worry about working my legs and all that. (probably about 1-2 miles regularly for a couple weeks)

im not getting emo. just saying what it is. it's obvious that i dont need to lose weight, and i want to gain weight. but it would be pointless (for me) to start lifting, in an attempt to get bigger, without getting in good cardiovascular shape.

and there's a pic of you somewhere around here i believe. unless it's a fake.

I haven't seen your pic nor do I know what shape you're in but I know when I tried to gain weight/strength and ran the best combo for me was go running/powerwalk/jog first then finish with a session of weights. After a big session of weights you probably wont want to go running anyway.

Best of luck to you, keep us posted on your progress.

cool. now this will be easier.

we could be e-training partners. for motivation....posting pics of progress and shit before one of us quits. (to have some competition and not just quit at the first sign of results)

and no. i dont. well...ive done boxing. so as soon as im in shape ill start hitting the heavy bag again and im thinking of making my own double end bag. then ill prob. go train with a local guy who says does jiu jitsu, muay thai, and karate. so we'll see how that goes.

I find taking the classes that are available to you will help you get fit quicker than just running etc by yourself. I was really unfit (long story not from being lazy) and started taking BJJ and Muay Thai classes (back to back) three times a week. In 4 months I've dropped my resting heart rate my 30beats. This is all without other excercise. Classes have instructers and opponents which force you to go harder especially if you have a big ego

well i mean....think about it. what the hell can happen? its not like they'll know where you'll live by the way you look. anyone in the street can see you, does that make you feel unsafe?

i mean, yeah, it's the internet, and some people in here have a weird sense of humor, but everyone's posted their pic and nothing;s happened, and millions of people have myspace and shit rarely happens (it only happens to the idiots).

i mean....other than thatm, what do you have to be afraid of? you really cant lose anything. the worse thing that can happen is someone romoshop your pic., but wtf?, big deal.

i mean, if you cant take that then.....why even post here?

but i think you can take it, especially after taking shit from everyone regularly. so just post your pic.

yeah man,. thats true. but i havent started that again yet. so i wanna built up on it. kinda get in some shape before, so when i go in, ill be in pretty good shape.

i dont know, besides that, i dont know how long it'll take for that guy to come around (says he's still setting shit up in his garage, which we'll use as a gym) so until then ill just be sitting here. and i dont feel comfortable just sitting on my ass knowing im out of shape.

As my physique shows you dont need to be shredded to have great athleticism, i run a 5:55 mile now, 200lb bench, can skip rope for days

well, i would suggest lifting weights before running. to me, running is a lot more exhausting than weight lifting, so if you want any muscle gains, you gotta lift when you're fresh and 100%. also, it makes sense to run when you're a little tired so you can build up your cardio even more. and i'm assuming you're a hard gainer like me, so watch your diet and focus on compound lifts, mainly squats, deadlifts, military press, etc... and if you want to get toned, tons of bodyweight exercises. just because you don't have any equipment doesn't mean that you can't exercise. running is free. burpees are free (and fucking insane). there's a lot of shit that you can still do.

a light jog is good. or warm yourself up using a medicine ball but i don't think you should run for a long time before hitting the weights. there is a mental fatigue factor

You should always lift first, do aerobics second. Lifting does not impact aerobic ability, but running will always detrimentally impact power production.

This is well supported by scientific literature. I can post some if you want.
