I did karate for nine years, some muay thai for about six months after I gave up karate, took a few years off and went back to martial arts a couple of years back. I'm currently training in Japanese ju jitsu, kickboxing and sambo, and have a little experience in quite a few other arts as well

Wrestling through middleschool, and 9th/10th grade, boxing for 3 years, and I started training in Krav Maga. It's a decent art, the instructor has done some bjj/golden gloves boxing champ so he brings in new techniques and let's us do the same. Like if we saw a move on UFC, and he knows it he will have us drill it and practice it and basically teach us it. So it is pretty cool

I'm a huge fan of the sport and train as much as possible but I have to say that when it comes to competing with top athletes I get my ass whipped on a regular basis. Lucky for me I have always had close friends that have been fairly talented in boxing, wrestling, jiu jit su, so I get to train with great people and live through their experiences.

Boxing with my grandpa when I was young, a couple years of TKD when I was younger as well. Wrestled in HS. Did some MT, Sambo, Judo and a little bit of boxing for the past few years. I have a problem sticking in one place so its difficult for me to train as much as I'd like. I just moved to Yorktown Virginia and am looking for a place to train now but haven't found anything really appealing yet.

i dont get it, do all you guys have plans of being in mma competition?
If not, then why all the mma arts?
Its not like bjj is designed for self-defense, or boxing is a good "discipline".
Personally, i train in Japanese jujutsu, it just makes more sense for a non-mma fighter.

even without competing, MT is fun. I will compete, but even when I'm done, I will still train. Same with grappling of whatever kind.
