this is why boxing is being taken over by MMA.. not one fight on that list is after 1995 ..

Yeah I think SRR should be higher.

In the greatest title fights, I can't BELIEVE they forgot Ruiz/Valuev! That was classic!... lol

Theres asaying that boxing is only as good as its HW champ.
Admittadly theres no Tyson or Ali around But its only a matter of time b4 other great fighter[s] comes along & revitalise the sport.

they focus way to much on promoting the HW's as the glamour division, they need to promote boxing as the glamour sport
I stole that from some article I posted

The Contender Series is the right step to bring Glamour and Charisma to Boxing. Boxing is far from dead. Mayweather DLH and Calzaghe Manfredo bout proves it.

U see every sport has its niche. Boxing, Wrestling Entertainment and MMA will coexist. Even MMA has rules , its limitations. Its just that boxing has more rules and restrictions.

Boxing has the FAR better fans. Fans that will last, fans that will always be there. Go on any boxing board and compare the fans there to the fans on any MMA board (and I know first hand because I've been posting on MMA boards for 6 years, boxing for 2 and a half). You will see MUCH BETTER discussion value on any boxing forum. Why? Because the average boxing fan has a better understanding and more knowledge about boxing than the average MMA fan has of MMA.

El Chupanarba

but boxing is not 14 years old either, hell it only really went mainstream two years ago, boxing has been around forever... it is unfair to compare the fans at this stage

yeah but real boxing fans like you and mr. flicker have grown up watching boxing, and most people on those forums are educated fans because they have been watching for years

the average MMA fan is the TUF noob, this fan has only been watching for two-three years. it's not fair to compare the fans at this stage

in ten years you will no longer see shitdog like threads anymore

I just waste too much time reading about or watching boxing, its an unhealthy obsession haha.

But the cool thing is you can learn a lot really fast just by posting on boxing forums and chatting with guys who know their shit, because boxing fans generally know their shit better than MMA fans. You don't see any replies like "Marciano by right cross" on boxing forums, the majority of guys back up their opinions with factual evidence.

Boxingtalk used to be great a few years back. The 'classic' section had some real knowlegdable & wise regulars. When I posted there it was before the rise of mma & I was a boxingnut back then. Its true what Bean says, boxing fans on the whole r much more mature & logical, differing arguements and opinions are based on research & fact & therefore respected.
Compare s'dogs mma forum to its boxing forum. They're worlds apart.
