The Warrior diet is a controversial diet that encourages under-eating during the day and then feasting at night. It is designed to mimic the way a warrior would eat (Spartans are mentioned by the creator).

I was just wondering if anyone had tried this diet or knows anything about it?

It seems to go against a lot of the more traditional methods of dieting e.g. 6 small meals a day.

I think it sort of makes sense. During the day, you are bashing people, so you eat late at night to prepare your body for the next day. I eat a lot at night and not much during the day, but I don't find it makes any difference when I eat to be honest. To known better have a look at www.winyourmmafight.com you will get detailed information on dieting. I have a cast iron gut and a ridiculous metabolism, so I never get fat and don't get stomach problems.

it depends on what your dieting for. Lose weight, not good because when you eat before sleep you don't burn much, and if you have a low metabolism its worse, you'll store it not to mention more food energy at night. I don't know how well you sleep but I know for me sleeping is hard enough without a full belly and plenty of sleep is #1 when training. But first what is it you want to do size, tone, energy/endurance, strength? What are you eating, high protein, low fat, mid range?

Always seemed like a bunch of mumbo-jumbo that went against nutritional logic. I'm sure "warriors" never ate that way because it was the most efficient way, but because they had to. In this day and age, we aren't forced to do that and IMO our eating habits should be based on what is efficient.

Being hungry all day definately can make you more pissed off... I guess that can help you train in some ways... Sun Tzu advocated keeping the men just hungry enough that they were edgy
