I am wondering what is the main staple foods of ur guyses diets? For awhile i have been a vegetarian and i used to be a big time carnivore. My body feels way stronger, less toxic and less acidic, i also feel that i have more vitamins and minerals from increased veggies and fruit. I eat a ton of eggs and egg whites, beer, leafy greens, fruit and some grains and lots of milk and whey protein. The only other sup i take is Zinc, cuz physcially active vegetarians are always low on zinc.

Vegetarians rule!

add some nutritional yeast to your whey shake. It's high in B vitamins and other things that tend to be deficiant in a meat less diet

Breakfast:
Organic whole wheat cereal w/ organic 1% milk. Organic pulpy orange juice. COFFEE!!!

Snack:
Apple and/or Kashi bar

POWERBAR - WORKOUT

Lunch:
Organic vegetable soup w/ hardboiled egg whites, or turkey sandwich, or leftover meat from dinner. Banana, Blueberries.

Dinner:
Boneless skinless white meat Chicken or Butterfly pork loins or Turkey filet, steamed veggetables (broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, asparagas, carrots, onions, mushrooms, snap peas, baby spinach). Rice pilaf, or long grain. COFFEE!! or Green Tea.

This is the Monday through Friday routine... It's all good as long as I don't blow it by eating a dozen chocolate chip cookies or half-gallon of Breyers chocholate ice-cream or a bag of dorritos with two liter of Pepsi.

Morning: One bowl of cereal. 1 Tablet apiece of Lamictal, Wellbutrin, and Concerta--washed down with a can of Pepsi.

Afternoon: At least 3 caffeinated beverages throughout the afternoon, ranging from coffee to mountain dew. One vending machine muffin.

Night: Typically a frozen entre such as Walmart Lasagna from the freezer section. At least 2 more caffeinated beverages. Perhaps some ice cream or half a bag of Reese's for desert.

The typical American diet. Beautiful. Bipolar disorder, ADD, caffine junkie, and plenty of empty calories. I like. I like.

I especially like the "Walmart Lasagna as only real meal" touch. Nicely done.

Lol. Were you able to recognize the meds right off the top of your head? That's crazy. Even if you didn't, I have to rep you. The med recognition cranked that post from a 7/8 right up to a 10.

Oh, I know my meds... There is a whole list of shit I have that I would never allow a doctor to perscribe me or my children. Those are 3 of the top ones. If I want my kids to commit suicide before they turn 20, I'll follow the diet you listed above.

LOL. Yah. Technically, you shouldn't take ADD medication if you are Bipolar. It just ramps up the flip/flop mentality even more. But me and me shrink are trying to figure out which disorder I got...so I'm in a weird "tweener" phase.

The perils of being insane in teh membrane. So, enlighten me, are you taking those medications--or you just have them? Like you work in a pharmacy and you snort Concerta in your spare time?

+, why do you say you wouldn't allow your doctor to prescribe them? Something I should know? In any case, yes, your kids will kill themselves if they follow my all-too-real diet. It's all part of my 40-year living plan.

People have gone soft with their cushy 72-year average life spans. The health /medical revolution of the twentieth century has spoiled us. What happened to the good old days when you married at 13, had 7 kids by 20, drank until you looked like a 50's Burt Reynolds, and keeled over at a poker table by 35? All this goddamn dilly-dallying. Just get your living done and DIE, goddamnit!!!

Just started a new diet myself. All natural and or organic. Eating five times a day with very small meals.

Breakfast: Fruit and yougart with some toasted sprouted bread with peanut butter and flax seed and honey + multi vitamin

breakfast 2: basically the same thing

Lunch: salad with baby greens, peppers, avocado, flax, tomatos, pumpkin seeds, sun flower seeds toped with oil and vinegar + multi mineral and C and a kombucha

Lunch 2: similar to breakfasts

Dinner: Ground buffalo with rice and veggies or salad. Or chicken with rice and veggies ect. Also switch out breakfast with lots of different fruit ect.

On days I work out I also supplement with creatine, L-Glutamine pre work out. Post work out shake with whey protein. Also take twin labs amino feul post work out and more creatine.

And always lots of water and other random drinks like A kombucha once a day, hemp seed milk, lots of green tea and some acquia juice as well.

You're hilarious bro... No I do not take any medication.. none at all. Healthy as a horse. I know about those drugs (bi-polar, manic depression, ADD, Schtizophrenia) because I had a roomate in college who was pretty fucked up, and a bunch of other friends getting Prozac and shit. Back in the late 1990's everybody with a case of the hiccups was being perscribed these heavy duty chemical balancers. It seemed to me like they were the product of marketing by Pharmacutical companies instead of real life solutions perscribed by the medical community... And the behavior of my friends on these meds just became worse and more irrational than before. The meds might work great when you first get acclimated to them, but god forbid you "skip" a few doses, or decide you are healthy and don't need them- then your imbalance and behavior become worse than when you started such treatement.

I'm not Tom Cruise or anyting, but all of those medications seem to be very counter-productive. BiPolar people are given medication to make their behavior more rational and level. But AFTER such treatment begins, it's no longer about leveling them out, it's also about making sure they don't committ suicide when they miss a dose.

And as far as children???? No fucking way would I ever allow my DEVELOPING kid to be put on ADD medicine or anything else. ALL YOUNG BOYS HAVE ADD!!!!! That's what happens when you take a wild animal (the human male) and make him sit still for hours at a time. OF COURSE young boys are going to run around like wild indians! If you have a young son and he doesn't act like a wild Indian, THAT'S when you should take him to the doctor.

The way I see it if a kid is perscribed ADD medicine as a child, this will cause an actual chemical imbalance that will make him depressive. When he's perscribed medicine for his drepressive disorders, it will cause a further chemical imbalance that results in BiPolar disorder. The medicine perscribed for his Bi Polar disorder will make him suicidal... and so on and so forth.

That's cool. For the most part, I agree with your views 100%.

But (big breath):

my Mom was committed at 19, got out, had me, re-committed. My dad was called "Space Cat" cause apparently he was trippin' on crack, speed, you name it 24/7. It was the stuff of legend apparently. He underwent 10 years of counseling to achieve "normalcy." Both him and his brother aren't considered functioning members of society; they live off the check and reside in their 80 year old dad's house--who still works fulltime and pays all the bills. Their sister had a son and then she became a prostitue and committed suicide. My 80 yr. old grandpa is also raising him, with help from other family.

My mom is "out" now, but is currently living off the check and smoking herself to death in her tiny apartment. Her sister got her master's, had a son, and seemed to be on her way to a normal life--then she broke down and now lives off the check. Her son pays all the bills.

I was adopted out, for strange reasons which remain a mystery to me.

I tend to think my problems are legitimately the result of a long tradition of rotten genes. At the age of 19 (the typical age of onset for bipolar) every day became a rainy one and I began to drool over the prospect of taking a dirt nap. mmmmmmmhhh....diiiirrrtttt nap (drooling).

A detail of further interest: I knew nothing of my parents' conditions or even cracked a psychology book until now. I've only recently met them, so it's not as though I've projected their condition onto myself.

Voila!! My case for why, under my personal circumstances, meds = okay.

Bruce Lee

^^^ damn bro... Quit a story.

I would categorize my completely unprofessional medical opinion as just that. An opinion. I think alot of these meds are dropped on people who do not need them. And it does turn them into crack-pots who end up NEEDing them just to keep sane.

But I truly, truly believe that Chemical Imbalances are real, mental disorders are real... i'm just saying I'm not so convinced that the current culture of medication is the "fix". Like I said, there are so many cases of the counter-productivity of these drugs. But, dude, your story is scary type real. I almost wanted to say that the family history might be more "nurture" than "nature", but the fact that you were adopted and still show signs kind of throws that idea under the bus. Like you said: rotten genes.

Good luck man. You seem like a smart dude, good head on your shoulders. I hope it all works out. Hopefully your grandpas genes mitigate the bullshit you got from your moms and pops. I feel sorry for the old fella, but he seems like a true Jedi to deal with all that shit.

Schitzo's def need meds... This is not in debate. The problem as i see it is ADD and Bipolar medications are over-perscribed for people who don't need them. I spent 30 days in jail once and they would give guys Prozac just because they were assholes or liked to fight. Just like clockwork as soon as the guys "sold" their Prozac for potato chips or pepsi, they would FREAK THE FUCK OUT and hurt people. WAY worse than the assholes they were prior to the perscription.

Inmates not on prozac = assholes
Inmates on prozac for being assholes = vegetables
Inmates who were on Prozac for being assholes but quit taking the prozac = paranoid, imbalanced, violent murderer in waiting.

Thanks for the understanding, Bruce. I consider myself a miracle when I look at my parents. I'm in college, pretty well mannered, have a nice wife, etc. Although I'm on Ninjashoes so I can't be that good really. I mean, come on.
