View Full Version : Getting back the eye of the tiger
PoIsON KaRaSu 03-28-2007, 03:29 AM I promised myself id start training again hardcore tommrow
i was wondering what do you guys do for motivation when after about a month of being lazy
the reason i stopped training is because i was traing to hard but now its time to startup again
Nasty Nate 03-28-2007, 03:36 AM listen to songs like eye of the tiger...or terminator theme song. maybe some good paul oakenfold or crystal method or some other beats. maybe some good gangsta beats ex:lil john, twista, luda, lil scrappy. or metal or hardcore are always good. for ex: children of bodom, (old) underoath, atreyu, shadows fall
PoIsON KaRaSu 03-28-2007, 03:47 AM i use to train to shadows fall. And 80s rocky montage music.
some time it gets old. I think this time im gonna go old school
and listen to some traditional japanese music
PoIsON KaRaSu 03-28-2007, 03:48 AM ha ha terminator theme song

Nasty Nate 03-28-2007, 03:53 AM dude i thought of throwin it in my runnin mix a couple weeks ago and that shit did wonders my for my firs run in a while and it was freeezin cold and that shit gave me the extra punch
PoIsON KaRaSu 03-28-2007, 04:03 AM yeah ! when the terminator beat strikes theres no giveing up
you look like a dumbass being lazy to that song.
so far i put a bunch of old traditonal samurai music in my play list
this training block im gonna work a lot on patience and meditation
right now my patience is shot
PoIsON KaRaSu 03-28-2007, 04:05 AM to much fire energy makes me impatient then i get lazy
its time for balance
Nick16watt 03-28-2007, 05:05 AM coffee...and lots of it
VENDO 03-28-2007, 05:12 AM WAR TERMINATOR!
Dr. Bob {ADR} 03-28-2007, 05:14 AM If I can make it into class motivation takes care of itself. We have a good group who always make me want to push myself to get better.
12ninja 04-02-2007, 07:29 AM seriously I listen to sappy love songs when i train! Some shit like Endless Love or Hero blasting away as I do 3 5min rounds on the double ended bag just keeps me hitting harder and more focused
SmokinGunz 04-02-2007, 08:03 AM i listen to a lot of Disturbed music, and think about mothafuckas i'd like to KO. 10,000 Fists always makes me wanna train hard and KO somebody.
erskine777 04-02-2007, 08:20 AM linkin park, rise against, disturbed, slipknot, eminem, tupac, immortal technique, all the energetic angry music. i usually watch a few mma fights before i workout which always motivates me. also, all the hot girls in the gym...

yeah im gonna work on that
ill make a collection then upload it
Sloth 04-07-2007, 06:35 AM I'm no expert, but here's what keeps me motivated:
1. Come up with some performance based goals. For example:
a. "I want to be able to do drill thirty armbars back to back with good technique without getting tired or lazy"
b. "I want to be able to perform 500 leg kicks on the bag with each leg, every other day"
c. "I want to get to x belt level of performance"
d. "I want to be in the olympics"
If you set big goals, break them up into smaller goals. Acheive a small goal, then another, then another. Start to feel good about acheving these small goals and pay attention to how they are getting you towards your large goal. Acheive a large goal.
Find another goal/challenge and start the process over again. Stop to remind yourself to have fun when you need to. (lol, I need to do this alot. I put too much pressure on myself sometimes)
I hope that helps. If that doesn't work, then listen to this:

knockkraut 04-09-2007, 10:55 PM Honestly, Rise Against will get you through anything. It'll make you push harder, run further, push you to train to your fullest. It's not that they've got the hardest edge, or the meanest lyrics; it's just that they rock so freakin haaard. If you've never listened to Rise Against, I highly recomend it.
Iwannafightu3 04-10-2007, 05:20 AM spar, get hit in the face. spar hard and get beat up/tired. it will make you train your ass off. sign up for a fight so that you HAVE to train.
