I got a submission on a guy last night
From side control, i had his arm trapped between my legs ala matt hughes vs BJ penn, and then stepped over the head and triangled my legs so in effect had a mounted inverted triangle (my hips facing towards his legs, like I am sitting on his head)
now i finished the guy off no problem, by leaning my weight onto my heel but he said it was more of a head squeeze than a choke, is this a legit move and if so, what is the correct way to finish it?
1. Do i lean my weight on his head (head crush)?
2. Do i lean forward and lift his head up with my legs (like a guillotine)?
3. Or something else, also do i need to push the arm across like a normal triangle?

Interesting in that video it looks like he puts his head to the floor goes under the other guys leg and and torques his neck toward the same shoulder. I can only assume that going under the other leg would avoid the inverse leg triangle and reversal as well.

Specifically for the purposes of the video the guy being subbed maintained a terrible base, refused to grab the leg, didn't try to stop the reversal with his left and instead decided to still hold the neck of the gi.
To be honest, against most people, at best they just go over to the opposite side mount.
A tech that would probably be ok against a newcomer but you should let them in side anyhow.
Hell, if you watch at the beginning the subber was having trouble getting his leg over and the subbie had to reposition his head to get caught for him lol.

yeah but i can hit this technique all the time with no "help" from my training partner, i just need to know the correct way to finish it to make it a blood choke instead of a head crush

Thats about the best you can hope for. I wouldn't look for it but I'd take it if for some reason I found him capable of being put in it.
