If you don't have bitcomet http://www.bitcomet.com/

heres a guide to optimize your speeds:
http://www.p2pforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=99434#99434

helped me alot, I didnt realize how fucked up my settings were

use this site for help with port forwarding:

http://www.portforward.com/default.htm

all you have to do is find your modem then the program(bitcomet) and follow the instructions

make sure after your done with that you get this

http://www.download.com/SG-TCP-Optimizer/3000-2155_4-10415840.html

select optimal settings at the bottom right hand corner and press apply changes

Thx looks great.

Do you maybe also know how to configure qtorrent ?

Well then I guess I will start using Bitcoment next time.

But how much did your speed boost up...

Maybe you think it did ?

ps I only got one tip for qtorrent is that your UPLOAD atleast -15kb's must be to get good speeds !

it depends on what your settings are now, it might not help you at all or it might help you alot

I don't think it will help that much, maybe only if you expierienced problems before with your speed and what you probably are capable of with your line normally...

I agree, alot of stuff on mine needed tweaking though and now its probbaly 5 times faster. I didnt have port forwarding set up and I wasnt able to get anywhere near the connections I should have.

I use bitcomet, but I am still relatively new to the torrent scene. On my last couple of dl's I averaged a speed of 145kbs. Is this close to your average dl speed or should I reconfigure?

I switched to Utorrent, bitcomet bans certain trackers for some reason

i don't really know how these things work exactly. i just click where is says UFC PIR8 DOWNLOADZ and then i stroke my assdick for a while and it's usually done by the time i'm finished.

I used Azureus then switched to Utorrent then switched back to Azureus again. I can't somehow configure Utorrent to speed up like my Azureus. Azureus hogs resources but I'm used to it.

Bitcomet (and Bittornado, I'm not sure) are banned because they're using some sort of settings to jack up (mostly put their queue first) to speed up their downloads.
