Should we go back to the old ways or keep things how they are now, noobs/lurkers speak up because if you disagree but don't vote you have noone to blame. Results of this pull will determine the final postcount requirements, this will be the last poll and will shape our future.

I will honor the outcome, we have had an opportunity to try both ways now.

I also just changed it so anyone who was a member of this site before the change will keep having their access.

I'm okay with the change. 10 was always low, even when the board was just starting up. Something in the area of 100 might be better to keep drawing in new members but this is alright.

I would say to clarify the change in the announcement better, as in say "minimum post count for the HL forum is now X" rather than have it the way it is now, leaving people confused and flooding the forums with posts about why they can't get in anymore.

i realize the reason that you want to make the change, because you don't want a bunch of noobs hanging around making obnoxious commments, however, there are plenty nonobnoxious mma fans such as myself who love coming to this site and watching new fights, gaining a getter appreciation for the sport. i realize you don't owe me anything if i don't contribute, but if i'm not harming anyone, i'd like to be able to continue to enjoy this forum

I voted for 10 posts, simply because it's a lot less time consuming to whore ten useless posts than 200.

I don't really participate in internet forum culture anymore, I prefer instead to just USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION to answer any questions or find anything else I need as opposed to making a new topic or hijacking a different thread. This behavior of mine is specific to here though, I've been a member on Sherdog since 2003 I believe and have 0 posts. Simply because you only needed to register to use their search function at the time.

yeah we should have expected all the complaining from leechers but the funny thing is these ''members'' that are complaining now I never knew exisited. Which is the exact point of the postcount raise rid us of leechers who dont respect the site. Many have said Fuck this site now, I just came here for the fights anyway so how are those people helping us? If we lose a couple hundred members due to no free fight area it will not hurt us. I vote stay at 200 unless we are just looking to have an impressive member join # with no benefit from it.

That is a good point. In my view, I think we should leave it at 200, but can grant earlier access to somebody if they have something to contribute. This will eliminate the 10 hitter quitters and leeches while at the same time allowing us to put good potential new members on the fast track. Those who post ojkdhfakjhf trying to get 200 get teh ban after 2 warnings.

there is no right answer IMO
this will help get rid of some of the really anoying guys but may hinder the sites growth slightly, i see no reason ninja can't help quality posters like mmamirale when it becomes obvious they are gonna be good members and give them what they need, as for the new common guys they can pay their dues or fuck off, plain and simple. There will be some guys with 200 garbage post too, don't kid yourselves but maybe those dudes will get teh ban before they get to 200 if that is the case.

Yeah, but the idea that if you have 10,000 posts everything you post is brilliant, and if you have 60 posts everything you post is "noobish" is so fucking stupid. Most of the obnoxious idiocy I see comes equally from "10 post leachers" to idiots like Evil. It's like judging someone based on the color of their skin...

So long as the guys able to post videos are allowed to through a mention of it in the FAQ or something, 200 is fine even though I should be bitching my ass off that while I originally came here for the videos, the atmosphere has been generally cool, so no biggie.

I think 75 is a reasonable number- it encourages people to contribute without spamming their way to the top.

50 is a bit low, while 200 is a bit too high. And as was pointed out, people who might normally have something to offer and isn't one-note will likely never reach that within a reasonable amount of time.

Well, my point is that perhaps this "regime change" is asking for posters to earn at too great a cost inasmuch as they might be turned off just on the sheer number of posts needed to view the forum alone. Course, that's not why they should come here in the first place. But I think a more reasonable number- like 75- will allow them to contribute as they're capable of without feeling like they need to make an extra effort thus making shittier posts. Again, just my opinion though.

Rather than change the post count, maybe you should mention this in the NinjaShoes forum FAQ or perhaps implement a rule that allows posts in that forum exclusive to posting videos rather than making requests, and so forth (for people with post counts below 200 of course)?

What I mean is for you to have some way of notifying posters of an *option*, perhaps, to post so long as they have videos to contribute.

Or maybe you have the forum viewable but locked to those with posts of under 200, with a caption reading (PM an admin if you wish to post a video). Or something along those lines.
