any particular reason cam?
sorry, i didn't have time
People are becoming increasingly unstable as our society, at least in north america, is speeding up. Take the number of road rage instances. I understand the number of serious intstances is increasing at an alarming rate as people struggle to keep up with the inceasing pressure of life in the 21st century. Arming everyone is counter productive to the general good. It also adds an element of invinsibilty that is also counter productive.
Also take a look at the average person you meet on any given day. Do you feel comfortable knowing that every moron out there, and there are lots, is legally carrying a firearm?

Do you think its a good personal decision for me to carry a gun?

honestly unless there is some personal problem your having with someone of the dangerous type then i think it s foolish. In many instances being armed may endanger you more than protect you. Why on earth in this day and age would you need to carry a firearm for anything other than hunting or target shooting.

I think that yes, we should have the right to carry guns. As an American we have been givin that right in our constitution. I am sure someone will say that that right was givin to us because one of the main reasons we got our freedom was because of the militia, they owned and fought with their own guns, and now we have a millitary to take care of those things. Eventually there will be a war on U.S. soil and I for one will not have a problem protecting myself, my land, or my family.

you need to carry a gun for that eventuality or would storing one for that posibilty suffice?
I am all for owning a gun, its carrying one that i don't like. Owing and storing a weapon is very different from carrying one.

You never know when you need one. I don't carry one on my person. I have one at home and I have one in my car. (I have a CWP)

With proper training and background check, YES we should be able to carry guns. Minnesota passed a conceal & carry law a couple years ago with much controversy though.
One problem is that it gives some people a false sense of security and they will end up on the wrong end of their own gun due to stupidity. Other people are just plain stupid and would naturally do stupid things with their gun such as flash them at people that piss them off or cut them off in traffic.
Good for some but not for all.

That is what they tell you in the classes you have to take to get a Concealed weapon permit. Never pull your gun unless you intend to use it.
thank God I live in Canada, safely tucked under the american blanket of safety but far enough from them not to become one, so i can be judgmental of those who protect me

In Wa state you just go down to the police station, wait for 2 weeks then go pick up your permit.

You say that now PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS but what happens when you are caught in the crossfire? It is only a matter of time. I know that Canadians and the rest of the world hates the american government and our way of doing things, but where would you be if not for them?

I hear about people involved in violent situations in my city everyday. There are many robberies, car jackings, home invasions, rapes, murders and gang related crimes happening not to mention the occasional shooting spree like what happened in Salt Lake City yesterday.
Is it completely out of the realm of possibilty that I would get into a fight/confrontation that could end up spiralling out of control and would involve multiple attackers, rocks, bear bottles, knives or guns?
I always swallow my pride and walk away from fights but I can think of a situations where someone I know was assaulted without enough time to calm down the situation. The attacker was a meth addict and had a history of violent assaults during the course of their life.

nato is alive and well, we can't agree on everthing but Canadians,Americans/and the British will always be united on the major changing issues that require conflict on a global scale

You are a better man that I to walk away from a fight. I guess I still have the caveman attitude. The only time I walk away is when I am at work. I have more respect for my work and reputation to escalate the situation.

Daytime I feel safe
When I walk around Seattle at night I feel very unsafe. I don't know if you have ever been to Seattle but theres alot of freaks and by freaks I mean it isn't abnormal to see someone wear a cowboy hat, a pair of roller skates and a ballet tutu
I am more afraid of the junkie looking people though like the crackheads, meth addicts and homless

spitshining nazi boots or working on a railroad 18 hours a day for nuthing, cept the better of the communist state.
i agree with being able to carry a gun, you are more likely to be killed by a spider or a snake then by a gun(non suicidal). IF it was mandatory to have a gun(like in Switzerland) crime would go down(like in Switzerland), cuz criminals would know u had a gun and would chance death to rob u.

no
I agree, The fact that i dont' carry a gun is why certain peeps are stil living a healthy life.. On the otherhand if i did carry a gun, the world would be somewhat of a better place..
Then you gotta think of those boneheads that shouldn't be packin but are I say no.. I enjoy the average bar fight from time to time and IMO if everybody carried guns, there woudl be little fights (everybody would just empty clips) thus we would evolve into a pussy race..
I enojy the fact that i know i can defend myslef with my hands, carrying a gun would just get me in jail..
IF you have never had a gun in your hand, there is a sense of power that comes with holding one.. Dont' fool yourself..
