View Full Version : Thoughts on 2007 Grammys

I saw the Grammys on TV twice and thought it was a great show.

I was anticipating the unified performance of Corrine Bailey Ray, John Legend, and John Mayer for weeks. And was impressed with how great they sounded.

Former American Idol winner Carrie Underwood proved to be very professional and very talented. She sang the hell out of The Eagles 'Desperado'.

Seeing Beyonce in that semi see through dress was worth watching the whole show for me. Her shape is so cute and perfectly sexy IMO.

17 year old Chris Brown had a couple of nice performances and looks to have a long career ahead of him. He even came out with a Japanese style mask a la Sakuraba.

The Dixie Chicks were the fortunate recipients of 4 big awards. I think thanks to the liberal Academy expressing support for their expression of protest against President George W. Bush. Country music pretty much fired them from country radio but now they stand on top of the music world in general.

If you saw it what are your thoughts?

Does the show not represent enough music genres or categories?

Do Shakira's hips still tell the truth?

If it goes astray that's just fine. That's why I put it here. Makes me laugh when threads do that.

the dixie chicks winning those awards rubbed me the wrong way. just like you said, thats thanks to the liberal academy. theres no way they had album of the year, not even close. they dont even write their own music or play it, they have to hire writers and musicians to "collaborate" with. Theres no way they beat out the chilis for album of the year, not even close. The chilis are also a band with liberal views, they just dont feel like shoving their politcics down everybody's throats so they dont get the award from the academy. The dixie chics album doesnt really get play, hasnt even been out long enough to prove itself as album of the year, idk how their touring is going but i dont think it could be going that well. last i heard they couldnt fill up any arena they played in. they didnt deserve anything they won.

I am a Shakira fan as well. I am mesmorized by her motion.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are my kid's favorite band, which makes me a bit proud. My kid's uncle used to follow them around before they were famous. He saw them perform nude, in only socks, underwear, body paint, etc. They were doing that stuff back in the days. Always kept it crazy.

I didn't know Flea was lation? His last name is Gonzales or something. Just learned that last night. Means nothing just didn't know. I've always liked that guy. He is entertaining to watch on the bass guitar. That's hard to do.

I couldnt agree wit u more. the liberal academy, media, etc.. will stop at nuthin to dig at the administration. not sayini i agree wit the administration or whaever, but its the same ol story.

i didnt see it, cuz the whole thing is a werk, and a joke. i heard shakira tore it up, along wit beyonce, as usual. both of em are worthy of tuning in just for them. they both so damn fine its not even funny.

I care about none of that. The only noteworthy thing to occur on that show for me was that Sting proclaimed that "We are the Police and we're back!".

Good to see Gnarls Barkley get credit. They're the best band to hit the mainstream in years.
