Former world champion Ricardo Mayorga is in the United States after being detained last week in his native Nicaragua. Promoter Don King reportedly helped bail Mayorga out of two legal scrapes, and now there is talk that the Nicaraguan strongman is in the U.S. to sign a contract for a possible mouth-watering May 5 showdown against Fernando Vargas on SHOWTIME, which would go head-to-head with the De La Hoya-Mayweather pay-per-view event the same day.
