KISSIMMEE, United States (AFP) - Neither Tomasz Adamek of Poland nor US southpaw Chad Dawson has ever lost a pro fight, but they cannot both win here Saturday when they meet in a light heavyweight championship showdown.

Adamek, 31-0 with 21 knockouts, defends his World Boxing Council crown against Dawson, 22-0 with 15 knockouts, in a battle of unbeatens that heads a trio of world title bouts.

"I've trained very hard for this. I will fight to the end. I will bring the title back to Poland," Adamek said. "I'm the champion. I'm the best one right now and I'm going to be here for a long time."

Adamek has not fought a southpaw in three years and respects Dawson's skill and record but is far from intimidated entering his third title defense.

"I don't worry about anybody, I can fight anybody," Adamek said. "I'm ready for everybody. I want to fight everybody. I believe in my power. Believing can make miracles. I'll see what he can show in the ring and I'll adjust to it."

Dawson has finally received a title opportunity after a five and a half year pro career.

"This is what I have been working for my whole career. I have been patient and here it is," Dawson said. "Now is the time to step up to the competition. I believe in my ability and it will show in the ring."

On the undercard, Mexico's Jesus Chavez, 42-3 with 30 knockouts, makes his return after a 16-month layoff and defends his International Boxing Federation lightweight crown against American Julio Diaz, 33-3 with 24 knockouts.

Also on the undercard, IBF junior middleweight champion Cory Spinks, 35-3 with 11 knockouts, will defend against Rodney Jones, 37-3 with one drawn and 22 knockouts, in an all-American showdown.
