I used the banana split to win my junior high school tournament. My club freestyle team away from school used to practice it for fun so I thought I would show some style when I finally got to show my school friends my skills.

I called my shot and told people I would beat this real arrogant guy who was talking trash and thinking he was the ruler of the school or something. We both made it to the finals of the school tournament and there was a good build up the week of the match.

The finals were in the big gym during back to school night (or open house?). So all of the students and kids were there to watch it and the guy was a lot stronger and better than I thought and I had a hard time for a while but I eventually caught him and made him scream like a little girl until he pinned himself to stop the pain.

That helped build some respect for me when I was a little 8th grader.
