This thread will be bumped for years whenever the Patriots kick some ass, or even lose games. But, they for the most part have been very successful, so they deserve a NINJASHOES.NET thread.

Right now, Im watching Indy-Baltimore, and rooting for the Ravens.
Later tonight, we got the Saints-Eagles.
Tommorow, is the big game for me... My beloved Patriots' continue to work to reach the AFC Championship game, and hope to continue on the road to Superbowl 41. The opponents will be difficult though. The Chargers have an insane runningback, Ladainian Tomlinsion, who can both run the ball, and catch the ball, incredibly. The Chargers are favored, and are the 12-4 football team, but when you have a coach like Belichick, and a player like Brady you have a better chance than anyone.

The receiving core may not be premier, but they have all the ability to play within the system by utilizing short timing routes, usually underneath whatever coverage they are against. Brady is a master at taking what the defense gives him, and on occasion, going for the bomb.

Prediction: 27-20 Pats win!

The Pats had an amazing game against the Chargers today!

In what looked like sure defeat, the Patriots rallied and scored 14 points in the final 3 minutes and 46 seconds. Behind the late game heroics of Tom Brady, the Patriots were able to move into good field position, to set up Stephen Gostkowski with an easy 31 yard field goal. The Chargers had a chance to get the ball but only had 34 seconds to move into field goal range. They were able to move the ball into Kaeding's range. He had hit 25 straight field goals, and hadn't missed in two years at Qualcomm. Fortunately, the 54 yard distance was too much, and the Patriots escaped with a win.

The Chargers brought their aggressive scheme into the game. Luckily, as the game wore on, the offensive lineman were able to protect better and better, especially after adjustments made my the quarterback.

Patriots won 24-21.

I was a little of I thought it would be 27-20

WE ARE READY TO FACE THE COLTS IN THE AFC CHAMPIONSHIP NEXT WEEK!

lol its cool mayn... i undastand what ur saying, it IS gay when people say "we"... its just pats have sucked for 40 yrs and now are the best dynasty i can remember. you have to remember there werent many die-hard pats fans until the past few years, and i was one before the whole rise to glory.

So even tho it is gay, for me It is "WE"! Fuck the redsox comparitively to the pats.

and about tomlinson/merriman/chargers:

I can't believe how well New Hampshire reader Tony Westover summed up my feelings on that whining nickname-stealer LaDainian Tomlinson: "I can understand why LT thought it was disrespectful and unclassy that the Patriots started 'doing the dance Shawne Merriman is known for.' Imagine if the Chargers won and some of their players went and did the Tom Brady dance at the midfield? Oh wait ... Tom Brady doesn't have a dance because he's a class act and doesn't do steroids."

I can't believe that the Chargers complained about a lack of class when Shawne Merriman attended a Chargers rally last week and egged on a "Brady sucks!' chant. No, really. This happened. Here's the evidence on YouTube (http://youtube.com/watch?v=yHyLlL01tGA).

I would think it was funny if I didn't like them/despise the Colts.

We had the game in the bag but blew it.

We used Mike Vrabel on the outside to blitz like every play. It was so stupid. We wasted his abilities, when that is all Tully Banta can do (blitz from the outside). The Vrabel move to OLB made Eric Alexander a key to the defense, but unfortunately, he hadn't played much at all this season.

Our secondary also had some major problems. Asante Samuel is a great player, but other than that, the secondary was pretty makeshift. Chad Scott and Artrell Hawkins are decent, but they are low level starters. Tedy Bruschi struggled all season long, and although he is a great guy, he can no longer dominate the middle like he has been able to in the past.

With two first round picks next year, and over 15$ million in cap room, the Patriots have all the ability in the world to improve and come back stronger next year.

Is the Patriots' Dynasty Over?
I don't care what people think, but we will be back. With Brady still in his 20s and Belichick around, we have a chance no matter what. Going into the season, I honestly expected failure because we had so much caproom, and holes on this team. It is a testament to how well these guys did throughout the regular season to even get this far, but it still doesn't make it any less disappointing when you lose an 18 point lead.

Pats franchised Asante Samuel. Signed OLB Adalius Thomas. Traded 2nd and 7th Rd draft picks to Dolphins for WR Wes Welker. Signed WR Donte Stallworth.

Wow! What a busy offseason thus far for us fans here in New England. We already have a lot to look forward to, and we are still 6+ weeks away from the NFL Draft. The Patriots have quickly addressed two particular issues from last year's team. Management has thrown around money in a way that is not expected in this area. The Pats picked up two very different, but good WRs in Wes Welker and the heralded Donte Stallworth.

WR Wes Welker has for years been a favorite of mine despite being largely overlooked. This is a man who holds multiple NCAA D1 Receiving records for what he accomplished at Texas Tech. Tech plays the spread offense and seems to be able to "plug players into the system" and succeed, but no players have ever accomplished quite what Wes did. Wes was able to spread the field using his good speed, but his ability to run routes and meet the quarterback's expectations regarding location to meet the football make him truly special in my eyes. He is a player who may remind New England fans of a younger Troy Brown using his mental capabilities just as well as his physical ones. I wouldn't expect Wes to play the outside receiver spot, as I would definitely expect him to take a role in the inside slot receiver position, where he is most effective using his agility, quickness and hands in small areas. He is also a very solid kick and punt returner as well using his good vision to find the seam.

WR Donte Stallworth is a different kind of beast altogether. You want speed? This kid has got it for you. An explosive receiver out of the University of Tennessee, he has had a somewhat inconsistent career. Still though, Patriots brass thought he was worth the 6 year 33 million dollar deal they just gave him. Although he has never eclipsed 1000 yards in his first 5 seasons, he has rarely had a legitimate quarterback until last season where he had over 700 yards in the 12 games he was active in. He averaged an astounding 19.1 yards per catch and will truly bring a dimension to the Patriots' offense that just didn't exist last season. I wouldn't say the Patriots' have one of the best receiving cores in the league, but taking TE Ben Watson, and late-season find WR Jabar Gaffney into consideration they certainly now have a very solid receiving core.

OLB Adalius Thomas is a great player. He should fit into this defensive scheme perfectly with his outstanding versatility. A 6-4 270 pound beast who can move with the best of them, he will be like a juiced up Willie McGinest. Willie was never great in coverage and that is where Adalius truly shines. In the NFL (on the Ravens) the 29 year old has basically played every position in the front 7, and he actually lined up in games against top receivers of the NFL (he lined up in front of Bengals star Chad Johnson before he drove Johnson 15 yards into the sidelines).

Overall, it has been a refreshing offseason for the Patriots. We got so far last season only to be disappointed in the final moments of the AFC Championship, but we were really undermanned. I hope we can make a big addition in the draft and in free agency to get another MLB, DT, S (Ken Hamlin?) on defense. On offense I would not mind another OT to challenge Nick Kaczur for a spot.

EDIT: I just heard we also signed WR Kelley Washington to a 5 year deal. This deal is worth a maximum of $22 million if he plays the full 5 years in New England. Washington, who left the Univesity of Tennessee early to enter the NFL has been injury prone in his 4 year NFL career, but in college he was called "The Future" because he has T.O. type size and speed. That said he has some "character" questions that he'll have to improve upon. A good signing with a minimal risk in my view.

first pre-season game tonight against the bucs.

moss is out due to a minor (knock on wood) hamstring injury.
maroney still hasn't been in full-contact drills so he won't be playing either.

it will be interesting to see how the wr position pans out. we have troy brown, reche caldwell, and jabar gaffney battling with newcomer Kelley Washington for a roster spot.

also, it will be sweet to see our new look defense. we added some legit help in tory james and our 1st round draft pick brandom meriweather from the U.

Hopefully Sammy Morris can prove to be a more viable option as a backup than I think he is, because even though Kevin Faulk is a good backup, he is best suited as a 3rd down back.

Oh yeah, and even after the penalty, we still have almost all our picks (except one low conditional pick to the Bears and the 1st rounder which will be taken away) but we make up for the missing ones with Oakland's 3rd rounder, and 49ers 1st rounder.

38-14 Patriots>Chargers.

In a dominant performance, the Patriots smashed the Chargers 24-0 in the first half. Short passing opened up the field for Randy Moss who eventually caught 2 TD's from Tom Brady as well.
All day, Brady picked apart the defense. Maroney still needs to step it up earlier in the games, but around the 4th quarter he stepped it up and they were able to run 9+ minutes off the clock.
Defensively, we played great. Our secondary was all over the place, and we could have easily had one more INT but it was taken away due to a controversial pass interference call. Adalius had a 65 yard interception for a TD in which he reached the physical limits of how fast a 275 man can run.

Bills had no chance.

It's the 3rd straight week that the Pats have put up 38 points. The team could have put up more, but they took out the starters and decided to play it safe with about 8 minutes remaining in the 4th.

Randy Moss had another great game, catching 2 TD's on his way to 115 yards. Adalius Thomas continues to impress and Asante Samuel seems to be returning to form.

I cannot wait until Harrison and Seymour return, respectively.

Next week we have the Bengals in what should be an offensive display by our football team. The Bengals do NOT have the defensive players to hang with the offense that we can bring to the table.

Like I predicted this offseason, we have a perfect blend of WR's which has allowed Brady to play at an unprecedented level. If he can continue this way, he has a great shot at many of the single-season records.

Brady had a little bit of an off-day but his stats were still phenomenal. He wasn't able to hit Moss on a play which would of left Moss en route to a 75 yard TD. Still, despite not completing 79.2% of his passes (as he did coming into this game) he threw for 3 TDs and 0 INTs while throwing for 230 yards.

The Pats won pretty easily, 34-17, but it was certainly the most average performance of the season in my opinion.

Next week, we expose Romo for being an average QB. Our defense is loaded and Rodney jumped right back into the mix. Adalius has been awesome game in and game out, and I will never forget Seau holding the ball up in the air while trying to return his 2nd INT of the day.

I got this off another MB(* = 3 rings):

First of all let me say good luck on Sunday against the Patriots*. I will be watching intently and rooting very hard for your beloved Cowboys. As a Colts fan I am very experienced and informed when it comes to the "Patriot* way." So, I feel I am more than qualified to inform you all of what to expect and don't be surprised if one or all of the following occurs.

D**k "Head stomp" Seymour*- Thank your lucky stars that D**k Seymour* is injured because he is a huge fan of the head stomp. You know the move right? When a defenseless offensive lineman is lying on the ground after a play and some piece of classless garbage decides he feels like stepping on the head of the tackle on the ground. Only fortunately for Tarik Glenn he was wearing a helmet unlike your highly talented center who was victimized my another classless individual named Fat Albert Haynesworth. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2669179 Enjoy.

Then there is Mike "nobody can beat us" Vrabel*- Romo beware! This classy gentleman enjoys the occasional lunge at the opposing QB's unguarded knees. The opposing QB will spike the ball, and then seconds later after the play has clearly stopped he will dive at the QB attempting to maliciously injure him. Then the very same evening the head coach (Bill Belichick*) will applaud this sort of action and inform the media that he wouldn't ask Vrabel* to change anything. Once again promoting such dirty acts. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2007/10/vrabel_fined.html

Roidney "don't diswespect my Patwiots" Harrison*- This guy is a documented cheater. Roidney* enjoys moonlight strolls on the beach, playing with his children, and sticking needles in his butt. I'm sure everyone here is aware of Roidney's* cheap shots and endless disrespect comments. Receivers beware. Instead of "cleanly" knocking the WR's out of their shoes like one Bob "the Hitman" Sanders or your fine safety Roy Williams, Rodney* prefers to kick 'em when they're down. His latest incident was his first game back last week. First game back! Didn't take him long did it? A defenseless player was on the ground when Roidney* takes it upon himself to kick the player while he's laying on the turf. Recently, Roidney's* dirty ways have continued to catch up with him as in the past two years against my Colts Roidney* has gotten hurt on his home turf on two seperate yet eerily similar plays. But don't think that will stop him from taking a cheap shot at your WR's on Sunday afternoon.

Laurence "cheese chasing" Maroney*- While this fragile fellow will likely be out, he carries some embarrassing baggage of his own. Drafted by the Patriots* one year ago this RB was hyped more than an N'SYNC concert in the year 1999. Patriot* fans were thumping their chests about their prized RB "stud" while the Colts were forced to draft a "lanky RB who plays small and goes down easily. And he's nothing more than a third down back." That would be Joe Addai. Ah shucks. Check out this infamous gem. http://www2.indystar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160629 Also apparently Mr. Maroney* likes chasing the cheese (men) because it comes with the ****. http://kissmesuzy.blogspot.com/2007/06/koolaid-maroney-wants-u-to-wash-u-***.html -A must see.

Tedy "bionic man" Brushchi*- Don't let this fellow fool you. He's as dirty as the rest. God forbid Mr. Romo throw a pick because if he should and Tedy* catches it he will proudly thump his chest, go up to a small Dallas Cowboy fan all of five years old and pretend to hand him the football. Once the poor little child attempts to proudly take the ball from Tedy he will quickly pull it away from the child and run around the stadium like a buffoon. Leaving the child with a confused and disappointed look on his face.

Tom Terrific*- What can you say? The guy has it all. Three rings*, money, the hot Super Model girlfriend, good looks (if you say so), Oh, and don't forget those priceless metrosexual Stetson ads. http://www.mimifroufrou.com/scentedsalamander/i/Tom_Brady_Stetson.jpg http://www.withleather.com//ul/892-brady3.jpg http://www.withleather.com//ul/893-brady4.jpg He also has a b****rd son named John Thomas Moynahan. Moynahan? Hmmm, makes you wonder if he'll ever win father of the year doesn't it? Apparently Mr. Perfect* can do anything but operate a simple prophylactic called a condom. Instead he let's his small unit get the best of him and gets his beautiful girlfriend pregnant then proceeds to leave her. Nice guy that Golden Boy*.

Bill "hoody" Belichick*- Their head coach. "The genius." "The mastermind." "The greatest coach ever." Oh, and "The Cheater." This man is the center of it all. He clearly promotes dirty play and arrogantly ignores league rules to gain a competitive advantage. I wouldn't be surprised if he was injecting Roidney* Harrison with the HGH himself. He forced a former player Ted Johnson to practice and play despite suffering a severe concussion. Johnson now has BB* to thank for his lifetime of chronic problems. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2751614 It was this situation that prompted the NFL to monitor concussions more closely and provide an anonymous way for players to complain if they feel they are being treated like garbage. This is the same "great coach" who enjoys having extramarital affairs on his wife. He's also the one who Patriot* fans can thank for casting a dark, irreversible cloud over the Patriot* organization and for flushing three Lombardi trophies down the toilet. Because let's face it, we don't know that BB* was cheating during their Super Bowl reign, and we also don't know if he wasn't. Now the public will forever speculate either way. And it's the public's right as Mr. Belichick* has played us all as fools. Worst of all is that his loyal fans continue to support him despite his despicable acts, past and present. This is the "classy coach" who in defeat behaves like a 3 year old child who just lost a game of Candy Land. This is the very same coach who after the AFCCG against the Colts would not even look at Peyton Manning who had just slayed the dragon is the greatest comeback in AFCCG history ever. Beware Cowboy fans. This coach will manipulate injury reports and deploy tactics such as telling players to fake injuries so his over the hill defense can catch their breath. Ask Willie McGinnis, he used to be one of the best at it. This coach will stretch and even break the rules in a pathetic attempt to beat you.

The Patriot* fan- If there were ever a sad situation this would be it. Patriot* fans are so blind that they allow the cheating Patriot* organization to take them for a ride and I think they like it. They will defend everything that their coach and players have done until the bitter end. Their arguments are very amusing to be honest. They are very arrogant just like the head coach they root for. They thump their chests at the notion that they have the greatest QB in the game while knowing deep down that Brady* is nothing more than a VERY GOOD system QB. Oh, and they'll shout three rings*! until they can't shout anymore. Sure there are some decent fans but when you meet one, let me know. Patriot* fans swim in a large river called denial. Unfortunately their "three rings*" slogan no longer has the power it once possessed because of the Nixon-like incident forever known as SpyGate. Instead of taking out their fury on their head coach who let's face it, is the reason that their team will forever be seen as cheats, they take it out on people like you an me. It's basically the same as a grown man acting like a fool because he's making up for other things in the size department if you know what I mean, Don't let them get to you, they're just very angry as they should be. But they'll never admit it. Nothing they say anymore bears any weight.
In conclusion, I wish the Dallas Cowboys and their fans a great deal of luck. Championship teams don't allow a team like the NE Patriots* to come into their house, with their fans and beat them. This will be an excellent way to measure your team. I for one will be pulling very hard for your Cowboys.

We like to win. You can look for all the trivial mistakes or faults we may have, but I see all our opponents faults on the football field every Sunday. This isn't a daycare, these guys are aggressive and make some mistakes, but the Patriots are beasts, and have the talent to be among the best teams to EVER play the game; nevermind in the era of free agency.

wow....New England just dis-mantled another good team.

we couldn't get our defense off the field on 3rd down. i hope we play them again in february. check out this quote from eagles free safety brian dawkins on the pats-cowboys game.

"Hey I am downtown philly to sign a contract today and I was just sitting in my hotel room watching the ETN (Eagles Television Network) Comcast Sports Network. I heard something pretty intresting, They spoke alot about the phillies trying to sign schilling at the end of the season and then went on to talk about Dawkins he did an interview where he spoke about the cowboys. He said that we a realy good team and that if cowboys and New England played 10 times in a row it would end up 5-5 he said New England got the best of us this time and looks forward to seeing a rematch later in the year. When they asked him who he wanted to win he said of course he has to go with his boy T.O. and besides New England beat him in the Superbowl. He also said they are abunch of cheap shot artist and that T.O. should know that because every time he cought a ball in the Superbowl they where twisting and turning his ankle and the med staff had to keep retaping it. They asked him about his contract and if he and Westbrook would be returning next year and he said I'll tell you what I told management at the beging of the year if we are staying competetive I will stay but if I feel that we don't have a shot at a championship then I will go somewhere that I do have a shot."

I know what goes around comes around; that is my point... everyone who is trying to win, will do anything on the field within the grey areas to win. You can call it cheap, others call it scrappy and hardnosed.

i hear ya, but that was before all these stupid rules came out. they could play that rough, hell everytime a qb was sacked back than they would try to take his head off. now if you touch a qb's helmet you get a freaking penalty. the horsecollar rule for instance, it only became a rule when Roy broke a "superstar's" leg(owens). It wasn't a rule when he injured 4 or 5 other guys before that. i call the pats cheapshots cause they never get caught! hell even that new delay of game penalty(when you spike the ball after a 1st down) wes welker did it twice against the chargers(once right in front of the ref) and no flag! but they flag my cb after a 4th down stop for it. why is this? because the league wants the pats to win it all to make it seem like they can be that good without cheating. the nfl has favoritism in order to make $. In 2005 the nfl wanted the colts to beat pitt and tried to screw pitt(using the refs) on that bogus overturnd troy palomulo interception. but the colts couldn't even win with the refs help. so than the nfl wanted pitt to win so bettis could go out with a ring. than they screwed seattle on several occasions in the superbowl. the nfl shows favoritism in order to do what they think will make them more money.

42-7 at half.
Brady had 5 TD's at half.

In the 2nd half we put in Matt Cassell after Brady and Co. failed to do much on the first drive of the 3rd quarter. Cassell eventually threw a telegraphed pass which was intercepted and returned by the Dolphins for a TD. Cassell was replaced by Brady who came in and threw his 6th TD pass of the game. Brady was then replaced by Matt Guittierez. Randy Moss had two incredible TD passes where Brady just threw it up there for a jumpball situation. Stallworth had a beautiful 30 yard TD reception as well in which he made a quick spin move and showed his excellent abilities after he makes the catch.

49-21 Patriots over Dolphins

Here we go Patriots!

Big game against Washington at 4PM.

Right now, I'm watching Colts and Panthers as well as a little of Dolphins-Giants which is in London. The Panthers came out strong with a beautiful drive which knocked about 11 minutes off the clock. They finished with a TD and then held the Colts to a FG.

If both the Colts and Patriots can win today, they will both be undefeated for one of the biggest regular season games in NFL history next week.

One footnote is that the Colts (with Manning) have never beaten the Panthers. Also, the Patriots (with Belichick) have never beaten the Redskins. Each team only has one opponent which they have never beaten (in the current "regime") so it will surely be interesting to see what happens.

Running up the score?

Last week at the Dolphins we played very conservatively in the second half, and we only tied them in scoring that half because we didn't care. We had 42 at half.

This week we continued playing until the 4th quarter when we put backups in. So sorry. Check your facts and stop being blind haters. Or continue, and I will laugh when all the teams fall victim to the "cheating, horrible, evil, Patriots".

EDIT: If you are not ready to play pro football at the highest level, get off the fuckin' field.

As Bellicheck asked.... did you want him to kick the field goal there? At least in the instance of going for it they either gave the ball to the other team, or kept the clock moving.

The running up the score arguements are always ridiculous to me. I mean, these guys are professionals, paid huge amounts of money to play a game. So sorry if you're playing a team who is better than you. Prepare harder. Stop them. It's no secret they are going to throw the ball most of the game.

As Herm Edwards says, "You play to win the game." There shouldn't be a point where you go out there and give less than 100% effort. THAT is how people get hurt. Not only that, but fans don't pay the kind of ticket prices NFL games cost to watch a team play for only half the game because their opponents just aren't as good as them.

When your offense has the ball you try to score. That's it. I mean if they keep proving that they are that much better than every team they play, and HAVE to play only half a game every game, what happens when they get in a shootout with another team and they've only been playing half a game all year. Honestly running up the score is the most bogus arguement I've ever heard. Professionals shouldn't get butt hurt because they happen to be playing a team who is leaps and bounds better than them. They've just got to suck it up and try harder.

I watched the game. Please let me know who we "threw it deep" to when we were up 45-0. The backup QB Cassell completed one pass to Jabar Gaffney in which Gaffney got good yardage after the catch. Then on one of the next plays, Cassell ran it in.

God forbid someone play a little defense and stop our inexperienced backup unit.

The Patriots will eventually lose (whether it be this season or next) and when they do, everyone will be there saying "we told you it would come back to bite you", but that is just ridiculous. Every team is trying to win every game, if teams could dominate us right now, they'd surely do it.

EDIT: And where exactly do you draw the line? Does Brady have to come out at halftime because we are up 42-0, how about if we are up 24-0. Does he really need to be out at halftime?

It all is ridiculous. "Running up the score" is something, I, as a New England fan, am proud of, and I think more teams should try to accomplish that feat... as my understanding of the game of football suggests playing a full sixty minutes and the point of the game? You guessed it... scoring points.

The whole gay argument by babies getting dominated by the Patriots is getting old. The Pats run up the score? No they just play football and if you can't keep up your organization needs to step its shit up. Randy Moss was had for a 4th round pick. Other teams could have had him but the Patriots are smart. The Patriots are the most elite franchise in sports today. The ownership, coaching staff, and the players are the most dedicated in the NFL today. Will getting dominated in the first half to come back within 21 to 28 points of the Patriots in the 2nd half against Matt Cassel make you fans and your teams feel that much better? It will make you go to sleep at night happier knowing you were held back on and still lost by 30 points? Also bigbadroy this is a personal fuck you for even mentioning Brady going down with an injury via cheapshot.
