View Full Version : New England Patriots OWN!
I will say though, what amuses me, is when the Pats finally do play a close game, there is a chink in the armor. I swear I've heard the word blueprint 6000 times today. If they blow teams out, they're assholes. If they play a close game with a team, that team clearly laid out the "blueprint" for how to beat them.
The Eagles played well, I'll give them that. Honestly, I expected them to play solidly. Andy Reid's gameplanning for Donovan McNabb is AWFUL. I don't know what kind of QB he thinks McNabb is, but he's pretty much the opposite of that. However, he seems to always gameplan better for his backups. Simplifies thing. Uses a lot of quick, short passes. Uses the middle of the field.
Lastly tho. The refs NEED to stop assuming Randy Moss interferes on every pass in the endzone. That's like at least his third TD this season that got called back, and was COMPLETELY bogus.

LOL, you will certainly have to, but at least your precious Steelers beat the shitty Dolphins. That game was miserable to watch, yet hilarious.

Thank god we still have a solid starting unit of: Vrabel, Bruschi, Seau, and Thomas.
Definitely a huge loss though.

VICTORIA'S SECRET MODEL BOOED BY NEW ENGLAND FANS: The BOSTON HERALD uncovers the unthinkable - a large crowd of men booing a Victoria's Secret model:
The reaction came when model Selita Ebanks appeared on the Gillette Stadium jumbotron during Sunday night's game between the Patriots and Eagles.
The foxy model was visiting Foxboro as part of a lingerie promotion. Maybe the masses were mad that she wasn't wearing any of it at the moment.

why yes we do, funny you mention that. the Steelers WILL struggle to win against the Bungals I think because as of lately they been playin as their opponent is playin (good or bad) and coming away with the win. I do not see this as any difference with the Pats. the Steelers will play good that day cause the Pats are good and the Steelers will steal one in N.E. I just hope the Steelers will get Troy, Holmes and a key offensive lineman in Smith back for the Pats game cause they are not playin against the Bungals. wait for see !!!!!!!!!

You're not even worth responding to anymore...
I'll say it again though. When they win huge, they're asshole. When they win close games, they've been exposed. I guess there always has to be something to talk about in the midst of an undefeated season, right? Tiresome if you ask me.

they beat the colts in a close game is one thing. barely beating two teams that won't even make the playoffs this year is another. i think the defense is starting to show there age.
It's all conversation fodder until someone can use this "blueprint" that these teams have supposidly revealed to beat them.
I will say though, that people need to keep in mind that each team that steps up to face the Pats at this point, is stepping into their biggest game of the season. These teams that can't make the playoffs anymore, are looking at this as their shot to disrupt history. You can't underestimate a bunch of professional athletes that are trying to cement their place in history, as the team that ruined the perfect season.

Wandy4LIFE 12-05-2007, 04:56 PM Interesting rule I came across in the Patriots Ravens game. When Bart Scott threw the flag into the stands the Patriots could have kicked the ball out of bounds at the 1 and the ball would be placed 30 yards from the spot of the kick off which was the 35. Then the Ravens would have been stuck on their own 5 for that last hail mary play. If the Pats kicked it out of bounds at the 20 the Ravens would have gotten it there and at the 10 the Ravens would have gotten it there. Interesting rule that Belichick and the pats special teams coach didn't use to their advantage. I had never known this rule but I heard it on the radio then checked nfl.com and saw it was legit. Not a big deal but could be useful in the future to pin teams inside the 5 when they have mental breakdowns leading to big penalty yardage on kickoffs.
Also the blueprint to beat the Patriots is to lose a close game. With Tom Brady you kind of expect him to get it done to get your team the W in the 4th but the excitement is watching how he does it and this week it was with a little bit of luck. Looking forward to layin out Hines Ward.

here's an interesting rule for you. when the ravens stopped brady on that 4th down qb sneak, the dc called the timeout. the thing is only the head coach or players are allowed to call timeouts.

you got it all wrong, they can't lay out Hines Ward, but Hines Ward can lay out your db's without a hitch. by the way, your fagtriots will not get as lucky with the Steelers.

Here's an interesting fact: Coordinators call and are granted time outs all the time in the NFL.

MMAsterkillah 12-05-2007, 10:19 PM Axe, get ready for a beautiful Patriots avatar for a few weeks.
That said, this is a tough test for the Patriots. I think we will carve up the defense, but Brady will have to do it with a lot of pressure in his face.
Hines Ward will only do well if he somehow put Ellis Hobbs on him. Ellis hits weaker than my mother.

MMAsterkillah 12-09-2007, 12:42 AM This game scared me a hell of a lot more before the Steelers were getting all this hype. I have seen multiple articles describing reasons why the Steelers will win, and why the Patriots streak will come to an end. I have heard Anthony Smith's comments and all of these people are setting themselves up for a big disappointment IMO because this type of thing really does rile up the troops.
GO PATRIOTS!!! One game at a time, but this game is huge!

MMAsterkillah 12-16-2007, 07:31 PM We are 13-0 and have a favorable schedule down the stretch.
Today, right now as a matter of fact, I am watching the Patriots/Jets. It is a very cold, windy game, but nothing compared to what was expected (tons of snow).
So far this game, the Pats have tried to establish a running game while still going deep and keeping the Jets off balance. I'm not sure we will put up tons of points, but if Brady just takes what the D is giving instead of forcing deep bombs, we can make them pay all day.

Isn't this the pot calling the kettle black from a New York Giants fan?
As for throwing at Pennington. You have to be either retarded or dillutional to believe snowballs you saw from a camera set far back, were not being thrown up in the air, but on the field at a QB. I can't decide which though.

I can say one thing about this, as far as Boston being a sweet city it most surely is, I have been there many times and will go back again. they don't like it there too much when some one wears Yankee hats and Jerseys in Downtown(back bay area), like I did once, got many a dirty look, even had some bad words called my way, but fuck it, if they can't take it fuck em, I laugh at em.

when the jets had the ball on their own 10 (or there abouts) pennington was in shotgun and you could see a snowball every now and then land right at his feet, it was clear as day
like i already said, don't take it personal lol
I didn't take it personal. I was legitamately questioning that. Still haven't made up my mind yet though.
HipnotiK 12-17-2007, 02:56 AM you could see it clearly, why else would the refs temporarily suspend the game?
it's not that big of a deal, i can understand why the pats fans wouldn't be fond of the jets lol
When the game was suspended, the Pats had the ball in the redzone. The snowballs were thrown on the sidelines. Your timelines don't match up so well.
Try again next week though when we play the timelines, your attempts are borderline humorous. Well... not really, but at least you try.

i never said the game was suspended when pennington was having snowballs thrown at him. in fact the refs never did/said anything when that happened, it was later when your classless fans threw iceballs at the sidelines and the refs (who were favoring the the pats the entire game) finally stopped the game until the fans stopped being dickheads
i'll say it again, don't take it personal, it's clear you already have. it's as if i insulted your mother SMH
Oh brother... I didn't realize pointing out the flaws in your arguements and actually responding to them would be intepretted as getting upset.
Me personally, I like debating. It's easier to debate when the other side has a vaid point and brings facts to the table, but you work with what you've got I guess.
I'll give you some friendly advice... spend less time trying to interpret the feelings of the person you're debating (you've proven this isn't your strong suit) and spend a little more time working on your trolling skills (they could use it.)
Not gonna lie, I come in this thread, I read whatever nonsense you type, laugh, refute it, maybe bust your balls some, and leave. You can trust that there is no getting upset over arguing on the internet.
Relax. It'll do you some good.
HipnotiK 12-17-2007, 05:44 AM LMAO cry me a river
:dntknw:
See ya next week when you try to pretend the Dolphins have a chance, I guess.
Oh, and just because it seems fun.... LMAO
Nah, it wasn't... oh well.

the jets had a chance. turnovers did them in. any given sunday, c'mon D.O. this is football
You know as well as I do Roy, that mother nature is what kept that game close.
MMAsterkillah 12-17-2007, 06:55 AM What the Jets had was hardly a chance, some might call it hope.
People are so worried with the Patriots success they would say anything to tear it down. Whatever though... it just makes it that much sweet for us real Pats fans. We know what it is like when everybody hates your team because you suck too.

that played it's part no doubt. but the jets te that fumbled was huge. when the jets let a patriot block a punt. the jets made some bad mental mistakes and the pats capitalized. that's what good teams do. but to say they had no chance is not true. everybody was saying the pats were gonna put 70 points up on the jets. than they heard about the weather and still said the pats would put up 40+. the pats wound up winning by 10 points and it could have easily been a closer game than that.

You can't only play Jets what ifs tho. Fact is the only time the Jets got in the endzone was blocking a punt as well. Fact is the Patriots threw just as many interceptions as the Jets did.
Weather kept that game close on an offensive front. It happens. Ask the Steelers what happened when weather reared it's ugly head against the Dolphins. This isn't an excuse, weather plays a factor in every outdoor game, but this "oh they could have easily won that game" shit has to stop. That Jets team knew coming in that the only shot they had in that game was to try to be confusing because they just couldn't match up with the Pats. They tried Brad Smith at QB running an option offense, they tried all kinds of all over the place random defensive spreads. It was their best oppertunity to have a shot with mother nature playing equalizer, and it just wasn't to be.
As far as people suggesting 70 and 40 point wins. I've had this discussion with a friend of mine who is an Eagles fan living in MA. He gets mad hearing talk radio callers and the like, suggesting these blowouts, and rambling on about the Pats dominance, and he judges Patriots fans by these people. Your typical talk radio caller, your typical person who is going to predict 70-0 wins (Jay Mariotti included) are retarded. These people don't represent an intelligent brand of sports fan, and their opinions shouldn't represent the masses.
I was slightly nervous going into this game to be honest. More nervous than the Steelers match. That doesn't mean I expected them to lose. Just as I don't expect them to lose to Miami. I was slightly worried about New York, but my God is Eli Manning shit. Who knows tho, we'll see.

I agree with just about everything, except about being more worried about the Jets than Steelers. I had confidence in the Pats both games, but the Jets just aren't very good.
I think we are a virtual lock for 16-0. That said, I am definitely worried about our playoff run. I look at our defense, and I see many of the same problems that plagued the team a year ago (see earlier in this thread). Our secondary is struggling in coverage, our pass rush has been predictable (Vrabel), and our linebackers do indeed, look like they are wearing down a bit.
I really cannot stand when Eric Alexander is in the game, nevermind in pass coverage. We really need Ellis Hobbs to step up and it was definitely encouraging to see Eugene Wilson make a couple plays for seemingly the first time in a couple years.
I wish people would forget their jealousy and envy and respect what these class guys are doing. Whether you hate them or not, you have to admit that the players have been classy for years. They don't talk much, don't want the limelight and are a true team. If haters wanna hate, it is fine, because for me, the home team couldn't get any better, winning couldn't get much sweeter.

It was just a personal feeling. I dunno why. Maybe it has to do with the fact that we always handle the Steelers lately. Maybe it would due to a retarded, inexperienced safety drawing attention to himself, leaving himself ready to get exposed, or maybe it was due to the fact that in the second half of the season, the teams that have played us the best are these no hope teams that have nothing to lose being a little risky in trying to end our streak. Oh yeah, and the weather. It was crappy conditions, but coming in they talked it up so much I expected Browns-Bills weather.
I was thinking about it this afternoon, and I think other than a rematch with the Colts, a potential second round game against Jacksonville, and those two monster RBs is pretty damn scary.

I was just thinking about how the AFC is shaping up to be pretty damn competitive.
Patriots, Colts, Steelers, Jaguars, Chargers and Browns seem to be in the playoff mix.
Steelers are an odd team, look great sometimes, and awful others. If we play them, it could be competitive.
Jaguars are a big and physical team that play conservatively but love to punish you. I think they can be passed on, however.
Chargers seem to be coming together as well. They put up 51 this past week, and despite having Norv Turner, their player personnel is top tier.
Browns don't really worry me much, though I do like alot of their players.
Bills and Titans have shots at making the playoffs too, but I think both of those teams have a terrible amount of holes that would be easily exposed by the Patriots.
Basically, I think the Chargers, Colts and Jaguars are tough matchups for us. Our LBs and D-Line have been pushed around a bit, and the team has struggled to make tackles on the 2nd level. Chargers and Jags could potentially exploit that, and we already saw Addai explot that. I think they are certainly the best team in football, but they need to make sure that the best team comes out on top each game.
Blunt Object 12-19-2007, 12:08 AM taking it all quite seriously eh?
the logic of them being great because there from here is purely a joke... you clown. its a big joke around here that there must be somem in the water. but you wouldn't know you are too infatuated with no NFL teams and gay lakers.
and when did i say my opinions meant more than others? facts mean more than opinions, thats all i know. if my opinions are based on facts, and yours arent, i win... you douche.
and about L.A., I've never been there, it could be the best place on the planet, I'd have no idea. All I know is where I am is sweet and so are all our sports teams (this is a sports forum you know).
gay lakers? haha you're a joke. and what are your "facts" for justifying that statement? is it the fact they have the best player in the universe?
yea it is a joke and i was simply pointing out the fact it was a lame joke. i never said you said that your opinion was anymnore valid, it's the way you go about making your opinion known. you put an emphasis on your opinion being the all saying truth and the ultimate opinion everybody should have. you're the douche btw thinking you're any better than anybody because you are from boston even if it was a joke. i can play the same game to. hey i go to the university of southern california. where do you go? that makes me better than you. i win, you lose...douche.

Blunt Object 12-19-2007, 02:20 AM Lebron?

Gay Lakers=A bunch of whiny bitches... Kobe and Phil can't keep their respective mouths shut, though they do look like a good TEAM lately. I just don't like them. Obviously, because I am a true Celtics fan. I hope they do well, but I want to smash those fags in the finals (like every year should be).
What emphasis? STFU. <<--- I honestly think you imagined this, maybe you think I am pompous because I can communicate my usually thought out opinions and sound 1/2 way intelligent?
You are a douche for being so insecure that you take an absolute joke (who other New England residents do find funny and which wasn't even addressed to you) and analyze it.
You go to USC? What are they the champions at? Not football, not basketball, not baseball. So I don't really care. Plus, that is amateur sports, we're talking the ELITE of the ELITE.
